PRO Refrigerator Drawers Not Sealing

Which drawers a PRO has

Sub-Zero’s current PRO guide gives three temperature controls: the refrigerator behind the door, the refrigerator drawer or drawers, and the freezer. Both widths have at least one refrigerator drawer, each front with its own gasket and pair of slides.

What stops a drawer sealing

• Load. A tall jar standing above the top edge catches the frame and holds the front off its gasket.
• The slide. Owners may lift a drawer out for cleaning, and the older PRO 48 guide warns that the slide front must engage the drawer on the way back. Seated on one side only, it closes out of square.
• Adjustment. Each front has height, side-to-side and tilt settings, and a side-to-side change needs both slides turned equally. A front out of tilt meets its gasket at the top and not the bottom, or the reverse.
• The gasket. A fold, a split, or a run pressed flat by an over-full drawer.

What we check

The drawer is emptied, reseated on both slides and closed on a paper strip at the top and down each side. Even drag clears the seal. A loose side is brought in with the height, side or tilt setting; each tilt hole moves the front 1/32 inch. A warm drawer with every seal holding sends us to the setting and the cooling instead.
